Lead by 2 character with different prespectives with each their own secrets.The story is full of mysteries and lore with must have replayability. Recommended for VN lovers.. Good dialogue, visuals and intrigue that displays (at least, in the ending I took >.>) a compassionate understanding of the worse traits of humanity. Beautifully crafted and written. A story worthwhile consuming.. Solstice is pretty much everything I'm looking for in a visual novel. It has great characters, an interesting story, and beautiful artwork. You control two different characters that have traveled to a lush domed city in the middle of a frozen wasteland. The dome is faltering and you need to find out why, before everyone freezes to death. Each time I learned a bit more, I found myself guessing who was behind it, and then second-guessing my guesses all the way to the end.. Great music, mostly great characters and a great story. The romance options kind of suck with the available partners being pretty meh.Solving the mystery isn't a lot of fun, if I'm honest. Cinders was better in this regard by providing information that allowed the player to make rational deductions and choices. Here, while everything that happens certainly makes sense in retrospect, it mostly feels like an oldschool CYOA, where the results of your choices seem largely random. I tend to rate choice systems in VNs by how much I feel like I need to save-\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665 at every decision point. In that regard, I'd say that Solstice is definitely better than average, but well, as I said, it's no Cinders.Still, overall, the story is enthralliing, and I had a good time with it. Definitely worth picking up while it's on sale.. Solstice” is a good visual novel in classic style (no-manga), taking place in a fantasy world infused with magic and with steampunk flavor. The story follows two protagonists: a doctor-magician from southern lands with hedonistic approach to life, and a dutiful technician from an organization of tech-architects. These disparate characters have both the same mission though: to save a city on the frozen north from doom at the hands of an unknown saboteur and clutches of deadly winter. The game is fully illustrated in beautifully drawn sceneries with animated figures and has good music, and will last for several hours until you unlock all variants (coming in four different endings) by carefully choosing what to say or do in certain situations. The main problem I have with this game is its price; 18€ for a game that is essentially a bunch of texts arranged in a decision tree and few pictures with only some basic animation is just too much in my opinion.
